The Institute develops and implements up-to-date and high-tech methods of diagnosis and treatment of various diseases: minimally invasive robot-assisted surgical operations, brachytherapy, nursing of extremely premature infants, a broad range of molecular genetic techniques, nanotechnology in dentistry and pharmacy and a number of others.

Preparatory course for international students:
Ural State Medical University has a Preparatory Faculty for foreign citizens. In accordance with the program of studies (one academic year) international applicants study the Russian language, Chemistry and Biology required for the admission to the University.
After the enrolment foreign citizens who entered a program in Russian have a right to study the following specialties: «General Medicine», «Dentistry», «Pediatrics», «Pharmacy», «Medical and Preventive Care». The enrollment is based on the results of entrance exams (Russian, Biology, and Chemistry).
Students having a bilingual program (Russian and English) study specialty «General Medicine». English is used as the language of instruction during the first 2 years of studies, and Russian is used as the language of instruction from the 3rd year of studies.
